A 21-year-old Ann Arbor woman is dead after a crash Wednesday evening on I-94 near Ann Arbor.
The crash, which involved a semi-truck and a car, left another woman in critical condition.
Police responded to the crash just after 6 p.m. Feb. 24 on eastbound I-94 east of U.S. 12 in Pittsfield Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates a 30-year-old Ann Arbor woman driving a black 2001 Honda was traveling on the far left lane when the vehicle veered into the left shoulder.
Michigan State Police say the driver may have lost control of the vehicle and swerved in front of a semi-truck, which hit the passenger side of the Honda and killed the 21-year-old passenger.
The car was forced into the tree line.
The 30-year-old driver was critically injured in the crash, according to Huron Valley Ambulance.
Michigan State Police First District Accident Reconstructionist and Huron Valley Ambulance assisted Michigan State Police at the scene.
Eastbound I-94 was closed for six hours Wednesday.
The crash remains under investigation.
