A woman was injured Thursday evening after crashing her car into a tree.
The driver was heading southbound on Route 133 when she struck the wire rope guardrail, according to state police. The car continued along the guardrail until it smashed head-on into the tree and slid partially down an embankment, police said.
The woman, Susan Delbuono, of Thomaston, 61, was extricated from the car and brought to Danbury Hospital.Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. near Beach Hill Road West.
Police said they do not know why the driver hit the guard rail.
