Sleeping driver blamed for early morning rollover truck crash Near Portland Oregon

A snoozing driver is being blamed for a morning rollover truck crash that continues to block traffic along Interstate 5 and snarl the commute for drivers around the Portland area.
Oregon State Police report that I-5 southbound lanes south of Interstate 205 remain closed following the 4:50 a.m. commercial truck rollover that injured the driver's passenger.

OSP does not have an estimated time for when the freeway will re-open but Oregon Department of Transportation says vehicles are being moved to the side of the freeway to open up one lane as soon as possible.

The accident occurred when the truck, pulling a trailer loaded with 20,000 pounds of frozen fish, was southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 286. The driver, identified as Milan Zeba, 53, of British Columbia, reportedly fell asleep, said OSP spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings.

The truck and trailer swerved onto the shoulder and back onto the freeway where Milan lost control. Ultimately, the truck and trailer rolled onto their sides, blocking the southbound lanes of the highway.
