East Hartford, CT : Single-car crash leaves one person dead on 1-84 in East Hartford on early Sunday, September 28, 2014

A driver died after a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 84 west in East Hartford Sunday morning. State Police responded to the crash near exit 56 in the westbound direction after receiving a call at about 2:18 a.m. The highway and on-ramps in the area were shut down in that direction for a few hours after the fatal crash involving at least one car, a 2002 Chrysler 300M, according to State Police. The highway has since reopened. The car came to rest against a guardrail after rolling over on the highway and was crushed. The identity of the driver has not been released at this time. It's unclear if any other people were involved in the crash. Accident reconstruction teams were on scene earlier in the morning investigating the cause of the accident.
