A Largo middle school teacher was charged with DUI on Monday after being involved in a five-car crash.
Lisa Micalizzi, 35, was arrested by Clearwater Police after responding to the scene of the crash at Fairmont Street and North Fort Harrison Avenue around 6 p.m.
Police say there was a smell of alcohol coming from Micalizzi, her speech was slurred, and she was unsteady on her feet.
She failed various field sobriety tests, police say. She refused a breath sample and was subsequently arrested for DUI.
Micalizzi is a language arts teacher at Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School in Largo.
