Sayreville, NJ : Driver in fatal central New Jersey crash on Route 9, near Bordentown Avenue on Sunday, November 9, 2014
A central New Jersey motorist has been charged with death by auto following a single-car crash that killed his passenger.
Middlesex County prosecutors say 20-year-old Nicholas Gomes, of Sayreville, was being held Monday on $250,000 bail. It was not known if he has retained a lawyer.
Sayreville police say Gomes was traveling south on Route 9, near Bordentown Avenue, when his car struck a concrete highway divider shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.
Brandon Narleski, a 19-year-old city resident who was sitting in the car's front seat, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
