Joplin, MO : ven injured in two motor vehicle accidents on Monday, 22nd August, 2016
Three Aurora residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:15 p.m. Monday on Route WW, three miles south of Madry in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the vehicle, Jessica M. Jones, 23, and passengers Angela L. Moore, 27, and Caitlyn J. Steelman, 23, were taken to Mercy Hospital Springfield with minor injuries, the patrol said.
Their westbound vehicle skidded off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the patrol said.
• Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at 4:35 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 96, a mile north of Carl Junction in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One of the drivers involved, Carol R. Evitts, 57, of Alba, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin with moderate injuries, the patrol said. The other driver, John A. Southern, 43, and one of his passengers, Kimberly J. Southern, 43, both of Carl Junction, were taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin with moderate injuries. A third occupant of the Southern vehicle, Ray E. Maxwell, 43, also of Carl Junction, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin.
Evitts was driving a westbound car and turned left into the path of the Southern eastbound vehicle, the patrol said.
