PORT ISABEL, TX : DPSWoman killed by wrong-way drunk driver on causeway on Saturday, 1st June 2024

DPS troopers say a McAllen man who was driving the wrong way on the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway was drunk when he slammed into a car and killed a young woman.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at 1:45 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the causeway, according to a news release from DPS.
