Utica, IL : man who fled near Waltham School was cited for DUI following crash on Saturday, 6th February 2021

A man who fled on foot after striking a parked vehicle Saturday, then a guardrail on Route 178, north of Utica, was found in a quarry east of his vehicle, taken to a hospital and arrested for drunk driving, authorities said.

According to La Salle County Sheriff’s deputies, Roger Thomas, 48, of Ladd, was headed north on Route 178 at 8:55 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle went off the roadway to the left and struck a parked vehicle owned by Melissa Drake, 32, of Marseilles, on the 2800 block of Route 178. Drake’s vehicle was pushed into a parked vehicle owned by Lori McSweeney, 60, of Utica.
