A Destin woman and a man from Arizona were killed Saturday night in a two-car collision that sent three other people to the hospital, authorities say.
The wreck occurred just short of the Marler Bridge in Destin at about 6:20 p.m., according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 2002 Dodge Caravan was on the private driveway of the Eglin Air Force Base All Airman Club and approaching the intersection with U.S. Highway 98. Inside was the driver, a 57-year-old man from Golden Valley, Arizona, and three passengers, two of whom were from Loves Park, Illinois. The third person was also from Golden Valley.
Approaching from the east was a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by 58-year-old Shari Ward of Destin.
The Dodge pulled into the intersection and was struck by the Nissan, the FHP said.
