CAMBRIDGE, WI : Crash near Cambridge shuts down portion of US 18 on Tuesday, 9th January 2024

An SUV driver is dead after colliding with a semi Tuesday morning in Jefferson County, the sheriff’s office reports.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office explained a semi-truck was heading eastbound on State Highway 18 while an SUV was driving in the opposite direction on the highway and the two collided around 5:40 a.m., near the Town of Oakland.

The Sheriff’s Office indicated the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, near Hope Lake Road. The other driver was not hurt. No one else was in either vehicle at the time.

The road conditions were determined to be a contributing factor in the crash.
