Galveston, TX : Graciela Ramos, 67, died in crash near AIM College and Career Preparatory school on Monday morning, July 18, 2016

A Galveston woman who died Monday morning after she was pinned between two vehicles has been identified.

Graciela Ramos, 67, died from blunt force trauma to the lower part of her body after a car struck her in the 5200 block of Avenue N 1/2 about 7:30 a.m., according to the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office. The crash occurred near AIM College and Career Preparatory school.

A driver traveling east on Avenue N 1/2 veered into a parked vehicle where Ramos was standing, pinning her body, police said.

Emergency medical service personnel transported Ramos to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver cooperated with the investigation and voluntarily submitted a blood sample to check for intoxication, police said. It did not appear the driver was intoxicated, police said.

No charges have been filed.
