White Swan,WA : Three members of Yakama Nation family killed in rollover accident on July, Sunday 23th 2017

Three members of a Yakama Nation family were killed in a rollover accident Sunday afternoon west of White Swan.


Levi J. Heemsah Sr., 61; Denise M. Heemsah, 43; and Denise’s 15-year-old daughter died when their vehicle overturned on Signal Peak Road in an area of the Yakama reservation open only to tribal members, said Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins.


Denise Heemsah failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle rolled. No one was wearing a seat belt, Hawkins said.

The accident is under investigation, Hawkins said.
