One man was killed when the car he was driving crashed into a rock embankment on Interstate 840 near east of the Carters Creek Pike exit.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Zoran Zivanovic, 53, of Thompson’s Station, died when his Hyundai Tucson traveled through the median at mile marker 24 into the eastbound lanes and hit a rock embankment.
According to the incident report, Zivanovic was not wearing a seat belt. Officials believe safety restraints would have made a difference, according to the report.
