Augusta, GA : Augusta man dies in wreck in Edgefield County on Saturday, February 25th 2017

An Augusta man was killed when his car collided with a crane parked along an Edgefield County road, according to Edgefield County Coroner Thurmond Burnett’s office.

Thomas Berry, 61, died from the impact in the crash on Garrett Road, and was not wearing a seat belt. The wreck was found Saturday, but authorities were not sure whether it happened Saturday or Friday night.

The crane was parked legally and no one was operating it when the wreck happened, according to the coroner’s office.
