Stamford,CT : Three hurt after five-car crash in Stamford on may, thursday 11th 2017

Three people were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a five-car crash on Courtland Avenue, according to police.
Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said a preliminary investigation indicates the driver who caused the initial accident tried to evade the scene, causing two other cars to crash.
None of the drivers has been identified and the three people taken to Stamford Hospital have non-life threatening injuries, Shawinsky said.
The accident happened about 8 p.m. when a driver was heading north on Courtland Avenue, near Hamilton Avenue, according to the report. The driver hit a car that was heading in the same direction, causing two other cars to collide.
While trying to leave the area, the first driver caused another vehicle to swerve across the southbound lane, which caused a fifth car to roll over, Shawinsky said.
