Surfside Beach , TX : Two teenagrs killed and two others injured car crash at the intersection of Glenns Bay Road and U.S. 17 in Horry County on Thursday , February 26th 2015

Two teenagers died and two other teens were hurt in a car crash at the intersection of Glenns Bay Road and U.S. 17 in Horry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The first victim was identified as Riley Bloch, 17, of Conway, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Troopers say he was driving a Chevrolet truck.

The second victim was identified as Gavin Brunetti, 16, of Surfside Beach, according to Willard.

He was the passenger in a Ford Focus.

Willard says both Brunetti and Bloch died at Waccamaw Hospital.

The wreck was reported just after 8:30 p.m.

Troopers say a 17-year-old boy was driving the Ford Focus and was turning left onto Glenns Bay Road when Bloch ran a red light and hit the car.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center with minor injuries.

A 15-year-old boy who was a passenger in the truck that Bloch was driving was also taken to a hospital and is expected to be okay, according to troopers.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Bloch was a student at the Palmetto Academy for Learning Motorsports Charter High School, according to a posting on the school's Facebook page.

"We are absolutely heartbroken this morning to know that we have lost a piece of our family. Riley Bloch was apart of the PALM family and we are deeply sadden by his unexpected passing last night. Please keep his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers. We will miss you very much Riley! We feel truly blessed to have known such a great young man!," said the school on its page.

"Riley just really changed my life, and I'm so happy I got to meet him and experience what I experienced with him," said Carlie Christenson, Bloch's girlfriend.

Brunetti was a student at St. James High School, according to his Facebook page.

"It still hasn't hit me yet, and it's just crazy to think about how things can change so fast," said Caylee Fallon, a close friend of Brunetti. Fallon described Brunetti as a caring and positive person, who had a passion for playing and listening to music.

One of the teenagers injured in the wreck is a student at St. James High School and the other is a student at Socastee High School, according to Teal Britton, spokesperson for Horry County School District.
