An 11-year-old boy suffered minor injuries Monday morning when his school bus was hit by a car in Nassau County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP report said 19-year-old Tyler Pope of Yulee was driving his Dodge Neon west on State Road 200, west of Pittman Road, when a school bus in front of him stopped to load students.
Pope, who was cited for careless driving, failed to stop behind the bus, rear-ending it.
There were 23 students on board at the time. One boy was taken to Baptist Nassau with minor injuries, FHP said. The bus driver, 48-year-old Michelle Conner, was not injured.
Pope suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to a hospital, FHP said.
