ELLSWORTH, WI : Truck crash spills flour on Highway 35 on May, Thursday, 25th 2017
A semitrailer truck carrying flour overturned on Highway 35 near the Pierce-Pepin county line at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, spilling its load and forcing the closure of one lane of traffic for clean-up crews.
The driver, a 70-year-old La Crosse man, was taken to a hospital in Red Wing, Minn., with non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck was carrying about 44,000 pounds of flour. The truck’s fuel tanks also ruptured but did not ignite.
At 11 a.m. Thursday, the highway traffic was down to one lane and was expected to remain obstructed for several hours.
