AUSTIN, TX : 1 killed in 3-vehicle collision; all lanes blocked on RM 2222 east of Loop 360 on Wednesday, 29th December 2021

One person is dead after a three-vehicle collision in northwest Austin Wednesday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) said at 8:05 a.m. that medics were reporting a three-vehicle collision on RM 2222 with at least two patients involved, one of them pinned in their vehicle.

At 8:12 a.m., ATCEMS said one adult patient had been declared dead at the scene. The patient that was pinned has been extricated from their vehicle and a third adult patient has been transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

The Austin Transportation Department said that as of 8:15 a.m., all lanes are blocked on RM 2222 east of Loop 360. Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
