An 18-year-old Marshall woman was transported to the hospital after the vehicle she was driving crashed Wednesday morning, May 3.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Sandra P. Hernandez was traveling north on U.S. Highway 65 at 7:22 a.m. when she lost control of the 1999 Honda Accord she was driving on the wet roadway. The Accord went off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole and came to rest in the ditch facing south, the report stated.

Hernandez was reportedly wearing a safety device, and sustained minor injuries; she was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The crash occurred roughly one mile south of Marshall.
