Man killed in head-on crash on Anoka Minnesota
One man died in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 10 near Foley Boulevard in Coon Rapids last nightTyler R. Trelford, 30, East Bethel, was pronounced dead at the scene after his pickup truck traveling the wrong way in the westbound lanes of traffic on Highway 10 was struck by a truck driven by Edward A. Jelinek, 62, Andover, according to a press release from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
Jelinek was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.He was wearing a seat belt, but Trelford was not, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.Shortly after 11:30 p.m., Coon Rapids Police responded to information of wrong-way driver eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 10 near Hanson Boulevard, then minutes later numerous calls were received of a serious accident on Highway 10 just west of Egret Boulevard.
In its accident report, the State Patrol states that a 1996 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling the wrong way on Highway 10 when it came to a stop in the center lane and was struck by a 2004 Ford Super Duty truck.
Both vehicles were totaled, according to the State Patrol.
