Queens, NY : 2 killed when speeding motorcycle crashes on 43rd Avenue in the Sunnyside section of Queens on Saturday, 10th November 2018

NEW YORK — The New York Police Department says two people have died after a motorcycle speeding the wrong way down a one-way street crashed head-on into a van.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday on 43rd Avenue in the Sunnyside section of Queens. Police say 22-year-old Steven Goddard of Queens was driving a 2018 Suzuki DRV motorcycle with 20-year-old Amy Gutierrez as a passenger. Both were killed when the motorcycle crashed into an oncoming Ford E250 van.

Officers called to the scene found both victims lying unconscious in the street with severe injuries. They were pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

The 27-year-old driver of the van remained at the scene and declined medical attention.
