HENDRY COUNTY, FL : Bradenton woman dies in crash on Saturday, 7th September 2019

A Bradenton woman died Saturday afternoon in a two-car collision in Hendry County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. Killed in the crash was Francesca M. Antoine, 26.

According to the report, Larry Gerome Willis, 32, of Clewiston, Florida, was eastbound negotiating a curve on State Road 80 around 1:48 p.m. Saturday.

At the same moment, Antoine of Bradenton was negotiating the curve in the opposite direction.

Willis apparently attempted to pass slower moving traffic in a no passing zone and drove into the path of the oncoming Antoine.

Both vehicles swerved to the north shoulder to avoid collision but ran into each other.

Willis’ van spun around and ended up in the westbound lane, while Antoine’s car continued on over an embankment off the roadway.

Antoine died of her injuries from the crash.

Willis suffered serious injuries while his passenger, Willy Williams, 6, of Clewiston was unharmed.

The incident remains under investigation.
