Oklahoma City, OK : Semi truck, Car Collide in Fiery Crash On I-35 in Oklahoma City on Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015
One lane of I-35 northbound in Oklahoma City is closed because of an accident Wednesday morning.
OHP shut down the right lane at NE 36th. The on ramp from NE 36th to I-35 northbound is also closed. The closures are expected to last several hours while crews clean up the mess from the accident that happened around 2:15 a.m.
According to OHP, the driver of a car moved into the on-ramp of I-35 northbound at NE 36th Street, believing it was an additional lane.
The driver was then sandwiched between the guard rail and a semi-truck.
The car flipped and rolled down the embankment. The semi-truck jack-knifed and slipped off the road.
Both the semi and car caught on fire, but both drivers only suffered minor injuries.
The semi wasn't hauling any cargo.
Troopers say the driver of the passenger car will be cited, but was not arrested.
