WAYLAND, MO : Wayland woman suffers serious injuries in one-vehicle accident on Saturday, September 9, 2017
A Wayland, Mo., woman was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash about 6:45 a.m. Saturday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Marilyn S. Barnhart, 46, was driving her 2008 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on U.S. 136 slightly east of County Road 401 when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a mailbox and overturned in a ditch.
Barnhart, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Her vehicle was totaled.
The highway patrol was assisted by the Clark County Sheriff's Department, Clark County Ambulance and Clark County Rescue Squad.
