Panama City, FL : Alabama motorist killed in car wreck in Jackson County on Sunday morning, August 21, 2016

An Alabama motorist was killed in a car wreck Sunday morning in Jackson County, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The motorist's name was not released, pending notification of next of kin.

The report said the deceased, age 35, of Alexander City, Ala., was driving a 2011 Hyndai Sonata southbound on State 71 south of Sims Cemetery Road about 5:32 a.m. Sunday. The car crossed over the center dividing line, and struck the front of a 2013 semi truck driven by Brian Christopher Davis, 22, of Tallahassee, that was traveling northbound.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The crash is under investigation.
