Macomb, IL : Three passengers was died in car crash on Thursday October 16th 2014.

A driver and two of her three passengers died early Thursday morning in a one-car crash just south of Macomb, Illinois. The driver, 21-year-old Gabrielle M. Yocum, of Springfield, Illinois, and passengers, 21-year-old Cassie L. Roberts, of Macomb, and 23-year-old Cedric M. Huffman, of Bushnell and then more recently Macomb, lost their lives in the crash that happened just after 2 a.m. A third passenger, 23-year-old Justin R. Beer, was taken to OSF Hospital in Peoria for medical treatment. Beer is in critical condition. The Illinois State Police reports that the cause of the crash was a failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. Police say the vehicle was travelling westbound on N. 900th Road in McDonough County when it left the roadway on the right side, crossed a ditch driving 224 feet, struck a tree and then an embankment.
