Pasadena, TX : A teenager is dead after a car crash near Cypress on Monday, August 21, 2017

Two 16-year-old girls were headed westbound in the 17600 block of Queenslake just after 10 p.m. when they hit an unlit bend in the road and lost control, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The driver apparently ran off the road and over-compensated, skidding back across the asphalt and slamming into a concrete culvert. The car flipped over and landed upright.
The teen in the passenger seat died at the scene, while the driver was flown to Memorial Hermann in critical condition.
Authorities said alcohol is not a factor in the wreck, which they blamed on speed and a poorly lit roadway.
