RICHLAND COUNTY, SC : Friday morning collision leaves one dead on Friday, December 2nd 2016
A Friday morning collision on Leesburg Road in Richland County left one person dead and another with serious injuries, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The collision happened just after 8:30 a.m. Friday morning at the intersection of Leesburg Road and Congress Road. Troopers with SCHP say a vehicle traveling north on Congress Road attempted to make a right turn onto Leesburg Road and was hit on the driver’s side by a car traveling on Leesburg Road. After being hit, the car went off the right side of the roadway and overturned in a ditch.
The driver of the vehicle that overturned died after being transported to a local hospital. Their identity has not been released from the coroner.
The other driver was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Their condition is unknown at this time.
SCHP continues to investigate the collision.
