Jackson, MS : Woman, boy killed in Madison County car crash on Thursday, March 16th 2017

A woman and child died in a three-vehicle crash in Madison County Thursday night, according to media reports.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Mississippi Highway 16 near Canton. A Chevrolet Equinox veered into the wrong lane and struck a Honda Accord. A Chevrolet Impala also struck the Honda after the first crash.

The occupants of the Honda, 61-year-old Barbara Boler and with a 2-year-old boy died at the scene, MHP said. A 2-year-old girl was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The diver of the Chevrolet Equinox was also taken to UMMC. The driver of the Impala was not injured.

MHP said the crash is under investigation.
