Eugene, OR : Pedestrian killed and motorist injured on Interstate 5 in Eugene on Friday night, January 8, 2016
A man walking across Interstate 5 near the 30th Avenue exit in Eugene on Friday night was struck and killed by a vehicle, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 8:30 p.m. when the man attempted to cross the southbound lanes of I-5 and was struck by a vehicle, said Lt. Aaron Gibbens of the Goshen Fire Protection District.
After the collision, the male motorist pulled his car off the interstate and parked on the 30th Avenue southbound onramp to I-5, Gibbens said.
