Forest Hill, MD : One person injured after a Three-vehicle Route 23 crash in Forest Hill Friday, November 11, 2016

A woman was hospitalized Friday afternoon after she rear-ended another vehicle that had stopped for road construction work on Route 23 in Forest Hill, causing her vehicle to overturn, according to Maryland State Police.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Trooper Dill, of the MSP's Bel Air Barrack, said.

The crash, which involved a third vehicle too, caused Route 23 to be closed for about 90 minutes. It happened near the intersection with High Point Road around 3:30 p.m.

The woman who was hospitalized was driving a Honda CRV west on Route 23 when she struck the rear of a Chevrolet Equinox, according to Dill. The CRV overturned and slid into the opposite lane, where it hit an oncoming Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Camry was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by firefighters, according to Dill.

He said the drivers of the Camry and Equinox were not injured.

Members of the Bel Air and Jarrettsville volunteer fire companies freed the Camry driver, according to a post on the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association's public information page on Facebook.

The crash happened about half a mile west of the intersection of Route 23 and High Point Road, according to Dill.

Route 23 was closed in both directions after the crash, but it reopened around 5 p.m., the trooper said.
