APPLE VALLEY, CA : A 58-year-old man involved in two-vehicle collision on Bear Valley Road on May, Thursday, 11th 2017
A 58-year-old man involved in two-vehicle collision on Bear Valley Road on Wednesday night died of his injuries at Antelope Valley Hospital, authorities said Thursday.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said Matthew Marshall, of Apple Valley, was pronounced dead after he was airlifted to the hospital.
Authorities say Marshall was driving a Kia Sephia that collided with a Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 20-year-old Adelanto woman at Bear Valley and Algonquin roads. Deputies and firefighters responded a little after 8:20 p.m. and found the force of the collision caused major damage to both vehicles.
Marshall, who was trapped inside the Kia, suffered major injuries. He was extricated and airlifted, sheriff’s officials said.
The driver of the Cruze, along with three passengers who are all from Apple Valley, were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The collision shut down Bear Valley Road between Mohwak and Navajo roads for several hours as the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station Major Accident Investigation Team worked the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
