Lorian , OH : One person Critically injured in Traffic Crash while Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on E. 28th Street on hursday , February 26th 2015
Just vefore 11 a.m. Thursday, the Lorain Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to 1806 E. 28T Street in regard to a serious injury traffic crash.
An initial investigation determined a 2003 Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on E. 28th Street, approaching the intersection of Pearl Avenue. A 2010 Chevy Silverado, from the Lorain Utilities Department and a 2007 Mercedes S550, were parked in front of Three Star Restaurant, 1806 E. 28 Street.
Prior to the crash, a city utilities worker was either entering or exiting the Chevy Silverado. The Ford Taurus lost control after passing the intersection, started to slide, and collided with the Chevy Silverado.
The Ford Taurus then struck the city utilities worker, pinning him between the Ford Taurus and the Chevy Silverado. The impact with the Ford Taurus also sent the Chevy Silverado forward, causing it to collide with the parked Mercedes S550.
Both the Ford Taurus and the Chevy Silverado sustained disabling damage in the crash. The Mercedes S550 sustained functional damage.
The roadway at the time of the crash was slick and snow-covered.
The driver of the Ford Taurus has been identified as Jerrad Londo, 28, of Sheffield Village. Londo sustained non-incapacitating injuries. He declined to be taken to the hospital. Londo did not have a valid driver's license and was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
