State police say an eastern New York man is facing a drunken driving charge stemming from a crash that killed one of his passengers.
Troopers say the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Rensselaer County town of Nassau.
Investigators say 26-year-old Edward Ferguson of Nassau made a left turn in front of another vehicle and collided with it One of his passengers, 28-year-old Christopher Sharpley of West Sand Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ferguson suffered a fractured spine and another passenger was hospitalized with multiple traumatic injuries. The driver of the other vehicle is being treated for several leg fractures and internal injuries.
Police say Ferguson is at Albany Medical Center and will be arraigned on a DWI charge when he's released. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
