A student leaving Grand Haven High School crashed into a Grand Haven Area Public Schools bus on Friday afternoon.
Police said the bus was traveling east on Ferris Street in Grand Haven Township when a silver Mazda sedan, driven by the 18-year-old student, hit the bus.
The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m.
“The student did fail to yield for the bus, which caused the collision,” said Deputy Ryan DeVries of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. “The student was found at fault and was cited.”
Officials said there were students on the bus at the time of the crash, but none of them were injured.
“(There were also) no injuries to the driver that was in the vehicle,” DeVries said.
