Fairfield, CT : Elderly woman crashes car into Valley coin shop on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016

An elderly woman from Shelton was injured Thursday morning after her mini-van crashed into the Valley Coins building in the Seybridge Plaza.

Police said the 77 year old driver lost control of her Honda mini van in the Seybridge Plaza parking lot. The van struck a parked car and then proceeded into the building, hitting the front the Valley Coins of Seymour building.

“The van struck a parked car and then proceeded into the building, striking the business of Valley Coin. The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was injured and later transported by VEMS Medics and Beacon Hose Ambulance to Waterbury Hospital,” Seymour police posted on their Facebook page.

People inside Valley Coins were not injured.

The building received extensive damage due to the impact of the crash, Seymour police said.
