Honolulu, HI : 72-year-old motorcyclist in critical condition after crash on Kalanianaole Highway in the Olomana area of Kailua on Thursday, 13th September 2018

A 72-year-old Pearl City man died today after a motorcycle crash on Kalanianaole Highway in the Olomana area of Kailua.

Police said the man was traveling Kaneohe-bound at 11:34 a.m. today near Ulupii Street when he lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons.

He was thrown from his bike onto the roadway. Another motorcycle traveling in the same lane struck him.

Emergency Medical Services personnel treated and transported him in critical condition to an area hospital, where he died. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors.
