DECATUR, GA : Car crashes through power pole kills pedestrian in DeKalb County on Friday, 5th July 2024

A pedestrian was hit and killed in Decatur when a car left the road, hitting them on the sidewalk Friday morning, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.

The incident happened on Glenwood and Candler roads.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. The driver was also taken to the hospital.

Police said the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Those involved have not been identified.

The accident also caused some Georgia Power customers in the area to lose power.
