Queensbury, N.Y : Three teenagers injured in Queensbury crash on Friday afternoon, March 10, 2017
A vehicle driven by an 18-year-old, with two teenage passengers, caught fire after striking a tree Friday afternoon off of Sanders Road, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Hope E. Abrams of Glens Falls, 18, was operating a 2003 Nissan Altima with two passengers, 19-year-old Alyssa L. Parella of Saratoga Springs and 18-year-old Patrick T. Combs of Queensbury, when the car left the road, struck a tree and caught fire, police said. They were all transported to Glens Falls Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was heavily damaged.
Police determined Abrams was driving at an excessive speed, which caused her to lose control of the vehicle, and she was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent, operating out of class and failure to use designated lane.
The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company, West Glens Falls Emergency Squad and Bay Ridge Emergency Squad.
