Lyons Township, MI : State police seek vehicle that killed pedestrian on Sunday, October 5, 2014
State police say they're looking for a driver who struck and killed a 42-year-old pedestrian on an Ionia County road, then fled.
State police say that 42-year-old Thomas Ruehs of Lyons was hit about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on E. Michigan 21 in Lyons Township. The site is about eight miles east of Ionia.
A statement from the state police Lakeview Post says it appears Ruehs was in the westbound lane when the vehicle struck him. It says he died at the scene.
State police say the vehicle probably has extensive front-end damage and may have damage to its windshield.
