Fallbrook, CA :Passenger killed in Fallbrook crash on SR-76 on Sunday, July 5th 2015

A passenger was killed early Sunday morning when her husband tried to transition from state Route 76 to Interstate 15 in Fallbrook and their car hit by oncoming traffic, a California Highway Patrol officer said.The 52-year-old Oceanside motorist was driving his Honda Accord east on Route 76 about 1 a.m. when he made an illegal left turn onto north I-15, CHP Officer Chris Parent said.The driver of a 2015 Nissan Sentra, who was headed west on Route 76 swerved around the car. Another motorist in a 2007 Subaru WRX, also headed west, couldn't get out of the way in time and his car slammed into the Honda's left passenger door, where the driver's 52-year-old wife was sitting.She was killed in the crash. Her husband, who suffered minor injuries, was not suspected of driving under the influence.The Subaru spun out after the crash and struck the back of the the Nissan, but neither driver was hurt.
