Lake Charles, LA : Young Teen Killed in Calcasieu Parish Crash on Highway 90 Saturday evening, November 22, 2014

A 16-year-old Lake Charles teen is dead following a two vehicle crash on Highway 90 Saturday evening, state police said. Troopers responded to a crash on Highway 90 near Boy's Village Road around 7:15 p.m. Saturday. Once on the scene, it was discovered a 2012 Toyota Scion, driven by 16-year-old Britney Anne Trahan of Lake Charles, failed to yield to a stop sign and was broadsided by a 2010 Ford pickup, driven by 52-year-old Sharlene Ann Parsley-Istre of Jennings. Trahan was pronounced dead. Parsley-Istre received minor injuries and was transported to Jennings American Legion Hospital. Both individuals were wearing a seat belt.
