ST. HELENA PARISH, LA : Man dead after Tuesday afternoon crash in St Helena on Tuesday, 25th June 2024

Louisiana State Police is investigating a fatal crash on Tuesday afternoon in St. Helena Parish.

According to a release from police, around 12:30 p.m., state troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 38 near Louisiana Highway 441 in St. Helena Parish.

During the investigation, troopers learned a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 80-year-old Billy Hebert, of Greensburg, was driving west on Louisiana Highway 38 before Hebert veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

Hebert was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
