Two drivers were taken to hospitals after a head-on crash in Pine Hills.

Florida Highway Patrol said a green Nissan southbound on North Hiawassee Road and a white Ford heading north collided just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Witnesses said the Nissan, driven by an 18-year-old woman with a learners permit, was driving recklessly before it went out of control and hit the Ford which was being driven by a 35-year-old man.

The names of the drivers involved in the crash have not been released, but officials said they both have serious injuries.

A 16-year-old passenger of the Nissan was also taken to the hospital.

FHP said the 18-year-old will be ticked for traveling into oncoming traffic as well as a license violation for not having a licensed adult with her in the car.
