A 15-year-old Anderson boy died Thursday when the motor scooter he was riding collided with a Hyundai SUV at the intersection of 23rd and Main streets.

William "Chase" Tomlinson was pronounced dead at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital at 4:16 p.m., Madison County Coroner Marian Dunnichay said.

She said the youth was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.
