ATLANTA, GA : Five students who suffered minor injuries when a school bus from Rockdale County on Friday, December, 8th 2017

Five students who suffered minor injuries when a school bus from Rockdale County Schools was involved in an accident in Atlanta Friday morning are home with their families after being treated and released from an Atlanta hospital.

According to Cindy Ball, Rockdale County Public Schools’ director of strategy and innovation, the bus was collected in an accident on U. S. Interstate 20 Westbound at Moreland Ave. when the driver of a pick-up truck entering the highway lost control and spun into the bus.

Ball said five students on the bus were transported to an area hospital to be checked out, but she added there appeared to be no serious injuries as a result of the accident.

The bus was one of three traveling to the High Museum in Atlanta for a field trip. Another bus was sent to transport the rest of the students back to Rockdale County. The field trip will be rescheduled.
