Sacramento, CA : Fatal crash involving a motorcyclist blocked lanes of traffic on southbound Highway 99 on Friday night October 3rd 2014
A fatal crash involving a motorcyclist blocked lanes of traffic on southbound Highway 99 about a quarter mile north of 12th Avenue for about two hours Friday night.
California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Micheal Bradley said the motorcyclist reportedly was seen driving recklessly southbound on Highway 99 about 7:45 p.m. Bradley said is believed that the motorcycle clipped a car and went down, and the motorcyclist then was hit by one or more other vehicles.
The motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was described as a white man in his 30s or 40s. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
No one else was reported injured in the crash.
The left three lanes of southbound Highway 99 were closed due to the crash and reopened to traffic about 10 p.m.
