Encinitas, CA : One woman is dead and two others were injured after a car crash early Saturday July 26th 2014.

One woman is dead and two others were injured after a car slammed into the back of a big rig vehicle hauler in Encinitas early Saturday.

The collision occurred just before 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the big rig was outside on the right shoulder of the freeway adjusting some straps on the trailer when the crash happened.

Medics tried to revive the driver of the car, but she died at the scene.
